100 éves a budapesti pénzverés forgalmi sor
1918 novemberében az I. világháborús frontvonal kedvezőtlen alakulása miatt a magyar pénzügyminisztérium táviratilag elrendelte az akkorra már egyedüli magyar pénzverdeként Körmöcbányán (ma Kremnica, Szlovákia) működő Magyar Királyi Pénzverő azonnali leszerelését, és a gépek, berendezések Budapestre szállítását.
A szállítmánnyal együtt költözött a verde vezetésének és munkásainak is egy jelentős része. A rendelkezés gyakorlatilag a hazai pénzverés teljes újjáépítését követelte meg.
Több éven át tartó tervezési és kivitelezési munkálatok után, kereken száz évvel ezelőtt, 1926-ban indulhatott meg a pénzverés a Budapesten létrehozott Magyar Királyi Állami Pénzverőben. Itt kezdték meg az 1927. január 1-től forgalomba került új nemzeti valuta, a pengő pénzrendszer érméinek verését. Az érmékre a BP. verdejegy került, amely verdejegy immár 100 éve töretlenül jelöli a Budapesten készült valamennyi magyar pénzérme verési helyét.

100th Anniversary of the Budapest Mint Circulation Line
In November 1918, due to the unfavorable development of the front line in World War I, the Hungarian Ministry of Finance ordered by telegram the immediate dismantling of the Royal Hungarian Mint, which was then the only Hungarian mint in Körmöcbánya (now Kremnica, Slovakia), and the transportation of the machinery and equipment to Budapest.
A significant part of the mint's management and workers also moved with the shipment. The provision practically required the complete reconstruction of the domestic mint.
After several years of planning and construction work, coinage could begin at the Royal Hungarian State Mint established in Budapest, around a hundred years ago, in 1926. Here, the minting of the new national currency, the pengő monetary system, which entered into circulation on January 1, 1927, began. The coins were marked with the BP. mint mark, which has been continuously marking the minting place of all Hungarian coins made in Budapest for 100 years now.
The 100-year-old Budapest mint circulation series includes the entire denomination series of 2026 circulation forint coins (5,10,20,50,100 and 200 forints) in BU design.
